Eligible employees and their spouses or life partners are eligible for up to $7,500 per adoption to help with expenses directly related to the adoption process.

Full-time and part-time employees who are eligible for the full benefits plan and have worked for REI for 12 consecutive months.

To prepare yourself for adoption, review this resource, which includes:

• A checklist that walks you through the REI benefit programs available to you as you go through this process;
• The Adoption Assistance Reimbursement Form you can submit to be reimbursed for eligible expenses; and
• The Qualified Life Events Form, which you will need to complete to enroll your child in REI medical coverage.

Once the adoption is final, submit the Adoption Assistance Reimbursement Form and copies of your related receipts to: HR, Attn: Adoption Assistance. Your request will be processed within one to three weeks. Adoption Assistance Reimbursements are subject to FICA and FUTA (payroll) taxes, but not personal income tax.
