What Happens When My Leave Ends?

 

If you are able to return to work on or before your expected leave end date, you need to:

  • Notify your direct leader so that they can schedule you appropriately.
  • Notify your direct leader if you need any accommodations or a reduced work schedule. More information on requesting an accommodation can be found in the Requesting a Reasonable Accommodation Checklist.
  • Notify Lincoln Financial to confirm your return-to-work date.

Note: If a reduced work schedule is needed, you need to notify Lincoln Financial, as disability benefits may still apply based on your scenario.

 

If you are unable to return to work at the end of your expected leave date, you need to:

  • Notify your direct leader of your new expected return-to-work date.
  • Notify Lincoln Financial that you need to extend your leave of absence.

Note: If you need to extend your leave of absence, you and your provider may be asked to provide documentation to certify the additional time away. See the Responsibilities During LOA page for more information about the required forms.
